Monthly inputs are annual averages × 12, not an exact payslip for a particular month.

Single · PAYE · Class A PRSI · standard USC · one full-year employment · no other income or special reliefs. Reference age 18–64, held fixed in both years.

MyFutureFund

Default: net before pension contributions. The option assumes explicit full-year enrolment in both years; age and salary alone do not determine enrolment. No automatic eligibility decision or occupational/personal pension deduction.

Contribution model: twelve equal monthly payments in one employment, enrolled for both full years. The entire month reaching or crossing EUR 80,000 is included.

Enrolment and opting in

Automatic enrolment generally covers employees aged 23 to 60 earning more than EUR 20,000 a year without a qualifying pension through payroll. Voluntary participation is possible under certain conditions. This calculator does not assess your personal eligibility or actual enrolment date.

Fixed chart profile: single · reference age 35 in both years · one full-year PAYE employment · Class A PRSI · standard USC. Same gross pay in 2026 and 2027. MyFutureFund and existing pension deductions are excluded. Personal inputs above do not change this chart profile.

2027 is a forecast: PAYE and USC use Budget proposals; PRSI uses the legislated schedule with nine/three-month weighting. See the deduction explanations for carried-forward rules and outstanding table questions. Rent and living costs are not deducted.

EUR 40,000–100,000 in 5,000 steps, then 10,000 steps to 200,000 and 25,000 steps to 350,000. The line shows the annual net-pay change at the same gross, not a salary increase.

Which rules are used?

PAYE and USC · Budget proposals
Budget of 6 October 2026: EUR 46,500 standard-rate band, EUR 2,125 each for personal and employee credits; EUR 30,300 ceiling for the USC 2% band. Implementation in law and final tables remain decisive.
PRSI · legislated rate schedule
2027: 4.35% through September, 4.5% from October. For steady earnings: 4.3875% before any tapered credit. The existing low-earnings exemption and credit are carried forward.
Carried-forward rules and model limits
Inclusive EUR 13,000 USC exemption, EUR 70,044 upper USC threshold and PRSI credit from the existing baseline. The full Finance tables have not been retrieved. Couples, families, reduced medical-card USC and part-year employment are excluded.

Taxes and contributions explained

Income tax (PAYE)

The Budget proposes a EUR 46,500 standard-rate band for singles and EUR 2,125 each for personal and employee credits. These values follow published Budget announcements; final tables and special cases still need reconciliation. The Earned Income Credit is not added on top.

Income tax (PAYE)
Universal Social Charge (USC)

The 2026 baseline exempts annual income up to and including EUR 13,000. Above this, USC applies to all relevant income. The forecast uses the announced EUR 30,300 ceiling for the 2% band and carries forward the EUR 70,044 upper threshold. Final 2027 tables still need reconciliation.

Universal Social Charge (USC)
Employee PRSI

The legislated schedule specifies 4.35% before October 2027 and 4.5% from October. Steady income permits a weighted annual estimate; the existing low-earnings exemption and tapered credit are carried forward; special employment cases are excluded. This is not an exact monthly payslip.

Employee PRSI
MyFutureFund

Off by default. Enabling it explicitly assumes full-year enrolment rather than inferring it from age and salary. Employee contributions reduce net after tax; employer and State contributions are pension assets and do not increase take-home income. The monthly model includes the full month reaching or crossing EUR 80,000; statutory cap wording and State allocation rounding remain open model questions.

Frequently asked questions

Are the 2027 figures final?

No. PAYE and USC use Budget proposals; rules not explicitly changed carry forward from 2026. The upper USC threshold and other tables still need reconciliation. The methodology lists these limitations.

Is MyFutureFund included in net pay?

It is off by default. Enabling it models explicit full-year enrolment and deducts the employee contribution. Employer and State contributions are pension assets, not additional take-home pay.

Are monthly values exact payslips?

No. The model estimates PRSI using weighted periods for steady income and shows annual averages. Couples, families, Rent Tax Credit and part-year employment are excluded.

Tax relief is not the same as a net-pay gain

The comparison must include PRSI and any selected pension contribution alongside PAYE and USC. Lower income tax alone must not be presented as the full net-pay improvement. Rent and living costs remain separate.

Consider housing, living costs and your monthly budget as well.

Methodology and sources

Forecast based on the published position at 17 October 2026. Income tax and USC use Budget proposals; other rules carry forward from 2026 unless a change is explicitly modelled. The model uses the EUR 70,044 upper USC threshold and existing PRSI credit; the full Finance tables have not been retrieved; final rules and special cases are not fully reconciled. PRSI follows the legislated schedule with a weighted annual estimate for steady earnings; monthly values are annual averages. MyFutureFund explicitly assumes full-year enrolment, twelve monthly payments and the whole month reaching or crossing EUR 80,000. Operational guidance supports this model; statutory cap wording still needs reconciliation. State contributions are a rounded illustration, not verified NAERSA allocations. Employer and State contributions do not increase salary net. Rent Tax Credit, couples, families, reduced medical-card USC, multiple employments and part-year cases are excluded. Not tax advice.
